May this time be the beginning of the great realization.

I was thinking today how it'd be a shame if we all just rushed straight to trying to bring everything "back to normal" without spending time to reflect on what we could gain from this grand pause for our future.

Undoubtedly there is a lot to integrate.

My friends and clients are telling me that they're appreciating a more refined approach to boundaries and prioritizing where they put their energy in ways they'd never considered before.

Several of them have taken up baking and other "forgotten" home arts.

I think we all look at community and connection a little differently now.

And those of us who are alone and have felt "skin hungry" have especially learned the importance of conscious non-sexual physical touch.

Imagine if hugs were our future currency?

I, personally, am filled with joy each time I walk down the street and actually make eye contact with a Dane (something I now experience often, but which was almost non-existent prior to these times).

The veil has gotten thinner. The world feels a bit brighter and more alive. We're all a little more open and available.

Admittedly, the external circumstances of my own life have hardly changed. I was already living in a way that prioritized a lot of silence and stillness and conscious social interaction long before the corona virus came to town.

I say that not to brag but to share that I happen to have consciously chosen a lifestyle that many people on the planet are currently impatiently waiting to get rid of. I say this having already gone through the growing pains of letting go of my full life of hungry ghosts in favor of the richness of emptiness.

Suffice it to say, I'm not an advocate for glossing over what's available here in this grand pause; this silence; this stillness. I think it's a terrible idea to rush back to some semblance of normalcy without considering whether that "normal" was any good for us in the first place.

This video speaks deeply to my personal hopes for our shared future.
